The Dream is alive

Seriously, I've never cried over a political speech. Politics, yes, but generally when they've done me an injustice. Obama's speech made me cry in a good way - it appealed to my hopeful side, which hasn't seen the light of day much recently.

If you haven't watched the speech, please do so here.

So, who will you vote for in November?

No matter how charismatic Obama is I won't be voting for him. For me, I don't see either the Democrats or Republicans being capable of doing anything other than participating in social control over the populace. They want to tell me what to do with my life, my money, and my morality at the point of a gun. I'd pass all together if that was at all possible. I haven't decided who I'll be voting for but it will be neither Obama nor McCain.

I'm with you, Cassie. It's the first time I've been interested in watching a political speech in years..if ever, and I enjoyed it. No, I don't believe Obama is the end all-do all, but like you said, he gives me a feeling of hope.

I just don't feel we can afford another four years of Republican leadership. Not that Democrats have all of the answers, but I don't feel the change could be any worse and hopefully somewhat better.

On a lighter note, one of the McCain ads makes the comment that Obama is a good speech maker, but not much else. Personally I'm looking forward to a president who can actually deliver a speech. The last eight years have been so lame in that area. ..Am I critical or what!?

Anyway...I really enjoyed the speech and more than likely will be voting for Obama in November.

P.S....Did you hear this? A man by the name of Barney Smith, typical American, not a big politician, was interviewed prior to the speech. He said, "He was looking for a president who was interested in Barney Smith, not Smith Barney." We thought it was a good line. :)
